Nine events were staged, many with live audiences, with the performances broadcast on YouTube, brilliantly compered by Jamie MacDougall. Superb musical quality was seen in the recital given by concert pianist Joanna MacGregor “one of the world’s most innovative musicians”, who enthralled us with her playing and in delivering the David and June Gordon lecture on the “Art of Transcription”. The acclaimed Bach Players found it a joy to play together for the first time since the pandemic began – and to a real audience! The Whistlebinkies needed no introduction and were a delight. The Trust has previously supported the Ten Feet Tall theatre company and much enjoyed their production of Chekhov’s The Proposal filmed in the Morning Room. This year the children’s contribution Song for 21 went ahead, thanks to the stalwart efforts of the HAF and McOpera, determined to ensure that the primary schools could benefit from the festival, having missed so much music during the pandemic. Children from New Deer, Rayne North and Udny Green rehearsed at their schools and came together to perform Peter Kemp’s A Place to Play which made imaginative and ingenious use of secret spaces and childhood haunts within the House and around the grounds. Conducted by Andrew McTaggart, this was a highly enjoyable experience for children and audience alike. The Trust gives an organ scholarship at Aberdeen University, and it was a pleasure to have the highly talented Anthony White, a former Trust Scholar, give an exemplary recital on the Father Willis organ in the Haddo House Chapel. ![Photo compilation for Haddo House arts](https://www.davidandjunegordonmemorialtrust.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Haddo_Arts.jpg?width=2048&height=1380&name=Haddo_Arts.jpg) #### Supported Groups: The Arts Aberdeen Art Gallery; Aberdeen Chamber Orchestra; Aberdeen Gilbert and Sullivan Society; Aberdeen International Youth Festival; Aberdeen Sinfonietta; Big Noise (Torry); Children’s Classic Concerts; Dee and Don Ceilidh; Fleeman; Garidge Theatre; Grampian Youth Orchestra; Haddo Arts Festival; Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society; Inverurie Music; Magnetic North; National Theatre of Scotland; National Youth Orchestra of Scotland; North East of Scotland Music School; Opera Bohemia; Royal Scottish National Orchestra; Scottish Ballet; Scottish Chamber Orchestra; Scottish Dance Theatre; Scottish Ensemble; Scottish Opera; Scrapers and Tooters; Shazam Theatre Company; Sound Festival; #### Supported Groups: Charitable Youth and Community Centres Aberdeen Cyrenians; Belhelvie Community Trust; Cromar Future Project; Drop In (Aboyne); Elgin Youth Development Group; Formartine Youth Project; Gordon Riding for the Disabled; Hearts and Minds; Hopscotch; Inchgarth Community Centre; Kayleigh’s Wee Stars; Logie Coldstone Trust; Maryculter Riding for the Disabled; Maryculter Woodland Trust; Midmar Hall; Monymusk Play Park; NSPCC Childline; Poppy Scotland; Red Cross; Robert Gordon University Foundation; Salvation Army; Sea Scouts; Tarland Bee Group; Teapot Trust; Udny Green Hall #### Supported Groups: Ecumenical Christian Belhelvie Parish Church; Haddo House Chapel; New Community Church (Inverurie); St Andrew’s Cathedral (Aberdeen) [All Beneficiaries](https://www.davidandjunegordonmemorialtrust.co.uk/beneficiaries/all) #### Trustees - Joanna, Marchioness of Aberdeen & Temair - Lord Catto - Mr P Hunter (Chairman) - Mrs P Chalmers - William Paton - Mr R Lovie - Mr J Savege - The Very Revd Dr Dennis Berk - Mr C Shepherd - Miss B McFarlane - Mr C I Wolrige Gordon of Esslemont - Andrew Gordon David & June Gordon Memorial Trust is a Charity (SC002664) Our site uses [cookies](https://145654652.hs-sites-eu1.com/privacy-policy).
