Beneficiaries

Kirsty E. MacDonald was our joint winner in this year’s New Contemporaries Exhibition. Her work draws on Scotland’s botanical heritage, working with natural pigments and sustainable materials to explore the relationship between plants, and climate consciousness. The work is rooted in a deep love for the rural landscape, tempered with an awareness of living in the age of the Anthropocene. There is a quiet stoicism in this practice, acknowledging that tradition and ecological urgency must coexist. Kirsty also studied at Gray’s School of Art.
